Post-Apocalyptic Christmas

Image
Peaceful and Serene, isn't it? Okay, first of all, Merry Christmas 2012 and Happy New Year 2013 May This Year Brings You All The Best Blessings in The Years to Come! :D And yeah, I guess this year, can be said as the 'most twisted' year ever since I was born. What I meant twisted was the whole world itself; not from my own personal life :p Why, because this year was supposed to be the last year of humanity. Despite many failed prophecies of Apocalypse, the most 'shaking' prophecy is probably this whole Mayan thing. Y2K also caused quite a stir, but at that time, I saw more celebrations than fear. Most people said that this year was going to end, and many raised questions whether there's going to be 2013 or not. There's even the movie '2012' which depicted the destruction of Earth and humanity thanks to its polar shift. Many people cried hysterically after watching it. There are so many scenarios which would bring about the end of t...

[Advertorial] Make Money Online

Image
Tempting... Well, this Holiday Season, I'm truly idle... or I don't really have anything really worthwhile to do. I originally wanted to study about 3DS Max, but since the program is being downloaded as I write (yeah, 1-2GB programs take longer to download. Welcome to reality, My Friend...), I think I'll try to find something else to do. And... guess what? I think I'm going to earn money from the Internet. The Internet is, as people say, a land of opportunity, just like America. If you can read your opportunity right and use it, you'll benefit from it. I've started this online job since I was a kid, but back then I knew nothing of PayPal and I thought that the earning was too little, so I quitted. But after more than a decade, I decide to get back, since I already know much more things about Internet, and most of my time, I sit in front of my computer/laptop, so doing some multitasking won't be bad at all :p The online jobs that I currently have is a...

New iMac Refresh

Image
So Thin... Aside from the new iPads and the retina notebook, Apple also announced their new and refreshed iMac lineup. Again, although still retains the same all-in-one design, it's radically thinner than before. Apple claimed that it's 80% thinner than it's predecessor. It's about time they update this line... since it's one of Apple's 'affordable' computer. Okay, it's thinner, so what? Hit the break to see what's new with this newly-redesigned AIO :D

iPad. Redubbed.

Image
Stunning. Problem? Yesterday, marks the discontinuation for the New iPad (Long-Live iPad2! :D), for it's been updated with minor-but-essential refresh, and redubbed to "iPad with Retina Display". God, in just 6 months, a device is already outdated. I think this is the shortest lifecycle ever been brought to a mobile device... and I can feel how pissed the previous generation owner are to hear this news. So, what are the updates? Let's find out. Better Processor Brand New A6X The iPad Mini now includes the updated Apple A6X chip, most likely an improvement from A6, the chip that powers the iPhone5. Apple claims that this chip has quad-core graphics processor, and its performance is as twice as the previous A5X that powers the "New iPad". Now this is what I called "minor-but-essential" upgrade that I wrote earlier. Those heavy games won't be so heavy now on this 4th-Gen iPad. Lightning Connector The 4th Gen iPad is also equi...

iPad Mini, Oversized iPod Touch?

Image
Err... Alright... Well, Apple has finally surrendered Steve Jobs' ideal for not selling 7" tablet, since he said that it was too small for tablets, and too big for smartphones. Yesterday, the not-so-secret iPad Mini for the first time has seen the light of the world. I don't know about you guys, but sounds and seems like an oversized iPod Touch to me... It has a 7.9" IPS LCD screen with 1024x768 resolution, which will give it the pixel density of 163ppi.  The same resolution as the full-screen iPad allows it to run iPad apps in full compatibility, without having the developers to update their apps. As for the shooter, the iPad Mini adopts the same shooter as its bigger brother: 5MP iSight Camera with tons of iOS6 features such as Panorama, 1080p recording, f/2.4 aperture, and 5-lens element. As for the FaceTime camera, it's been updated to take 1.2MP stills and record 720p videos. It's been renamed to FaceTime HD, though :p Next, the inside...

Tons of Apple Announcement

Image
A Little More Indeed... Today at 10 p.m. Pacific Time (12a.m. GMT +7), Apple finally gave us the final touch to finish 2012 (or isn't it?). They got a lot of things to announce, starting from the heavily-rumored iPad Mini, a refreshed next-gen 9.7" iPad, 13" Retina MacBook Pro, refreshed Mac Mini, and the new iMac. It seems like the invitation was... wrong? Hehehe Stay tuned, for I'm going to deliver the announcement one by one :D

Which WinRAR Compression Do You Need? [GUIDE]

Image
Okay, this is finally the time when I write a serious (and perhaps useful) post. The last time I wrote a post was about the first anniversary for Steve Jobs' passing. You can read it below this post. He was one of great people that mankind will miss. Anyway, the post before the anniversary was already weeks ago. Thanks to the busy routines and tons of assignments in my lecture, I almost abandoned by beloved blog. Today, though... marks the day for my return. Hit the break if you're interested about the meaning behind 'Store', 'Fast', 'Best', etc. :D

iPod Nano, Getting Back to Old Design

Image
Back to Old Design... Almost. The last iPod line to be updated is the Nano line. The last time I saw the design of the Nano (4th or 5th Gen, I presume), I was fascinated at how thin and rectangular the design was. It was... sophisticated, cutting edge. But all went down when Apple released the ultra small iPod Nano. I know the word 'Nano' means small, but 6th Gen iPod Nano was too small for me. Good thing Apple returned to good old rectangular design, though :p. Hit to break to find out what it's capable of ;)

iPod Shuffle, More Colors

Image
Sorry, You're Not Getting a New Design This Year... So much disappointment for the entry-level iPod Shuffle. There doesn't seem to be any changes made, except for the colors. Now the colors are brighter, and fresher to the eyes: Ocean blue, Mint Green, Lime Green, Purple, Bright Red, Silver, and Black. I don't know about color names... If you're confused, the header image is your friend :p No other significant changes are made, though. Still the same $49 price tag, same 2GB storage, and same earbuds. Nope, you're not getting those brand new 'EarPods'. Doesn't seem to be a great day for Shuffle fans... unless you're a collector ;) If you're rocking an old shuffle, would you cash out your banknote and get a new color? I used to want to buy a Shuffle... but Nano's latest update changes my mind (although I like the pitch-black color). If you want to get an affordable iPod, or just don't know what to give for your friend's birthday...

iPod Touch, Best Upgrade of The Year

Image
Now That's What I Call an Upgrade Yesterday's Apple Media Event proved something for Apple. It's that it can launch more than a few products altogether... and they're all a pretty nice and acceptable updates (most of them, at least...). Well, in my opinion, the 'Best Upgrade' award would be rewarded to the iPod Touch. Why? It's more than just colors, I told you. Find out what's upgraded after the break ;)

The iPhone5, Now with A6 and 4" Screen

Image
Taller. Today, marks the birth of a new, next-gen iPhone. I'm not that much into Apple's mobile ecosystem (especially iPhone), although it's always fascinating to observe the competition. Yes, I use some of their mobile products (like iPad) but some are just too expensive for me. Anyway, on the left, you'll see the press front shot of Apple's new handset. From the front, there seems to be no changes at all... It only got a bit taller. Yep, the small Retina screen on the iPhone4(S) has been expanded to 4". I'm not bashing or anything... but IMHO, 4" is already 'too small'. Good thing that it's still thinner, though. Meaning that it can fit easily in your pocket :p

Apple Released iPhone5, Redesigned iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and More Colors for the Shuffle!

Image
It's been a week since I posted my last post (right, 7 days... not more, not less) and I was so darn busy at the moment, with all those programming C++ stuffs, with studios, CSS-styling (they're kind of confusing), HTML editing with Dreamweaver magic, etc. but today I'm going to make up for it, though. I've got things to post right now, and I'm going to post it separately. Yeah, Apple has released the new iPhone, iPod Nano, iPod Touch, and iPod Shuffle. The last isn't quite new since there are only more colors... I'm going to post it separately, so you don't have to scroll. Once the posts are done, I'm going to put them up here, for easy access :) Please take a moment. Since I'm in Indonesia, I'll have to do a research. Those babies most likely won't make it here until next year thanks to the Bureaucracy.... Update: iPhone5 Coverage Updated. Hit the Image for More Info :D Update2: iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle Added....

Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Camera Uncovered

Image
I haven't got all day to stay awake until 00:00 AM last night to watch either the live blog or the news... so what do I do? I just wake up in the morning and instantly open every Android blogs that I know :) So, yesterday Samsung finally revealed the next-gen Galaxy Note II; oh wait, we also have the phone camera on the radar. So, yesterday, there are two things on board: Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Camera. So, what are they? Hit the break to find more ;)

Just Hours Until Samsung Unpacked Event!

Image
The Claimed Invitation of Unpacked 2012 So many things happen in this week. We have numerous part leaks of iPhone5 (which is claimed to be released on September 21st), iPad Mini, iPod Touch and iPod Nano redesign, Samsung's lost against Apple in U.S. Court (God, that really gave Samsung a huge hit; 1 billion USD, what could I do with that much money?) and finally, this. Despite its loss in U.S. Court, Samsung seems to still stay to its timeline, by rumored to be announcing their newest phablet flagship, Galaxy Note 2 earlier in annual IFA event in Berlin. The flagship is rumored to have a slightly bigger sAMOLED screen (5.5" compared to current 5.3"), a powerful 1.4GHz Quad-Core processor and 2GB RAM. That's enough for me to make up my mind to grab this one, and pass down my OG i9000 to my sister, which is craving for Android over her BlackBerry, thanks to Instagram. Oh, I almost forgot: the Unpacked Event will start on August 29th, at 19:00 CEST time (I ass...
