Digital Lending Safety Measures

Image
Digital lending illustration Anda berbicara Bahasa Indonesia? Baca artikel terjemahannya di sini ! Technology and the Internet has really made our life easier. We can do everything, from controlling our appliances to ordering food. Recently, there's a new trend in town: You can borrow money, digitally. Yes, that's right. Since your financial records are available and stored digitally (your savings, transactions, and shopping history), lending companies can monitor them and help them decide whether you're eligible for a loan or not. Unfortunately, that doesn't come without consequences. At least in Indonesia, unregulated lending companies offer easy loan with unrealistic interest rates, data misuse, and even abuse. There have been reports and victims from these "digital loan sharks". One even committed suicide. That is exactly why I'm writing this article. To give you some tips on how to avoid these loan sharks, and if possible, make you ask you...

Trying Out Material Design in Google Chrome

Image
Google's Illustration of Material Design Do you speak Indonesian? Read the translated article here . If you're an Android enthusiast like myself, I'm pretty certain that you, at least, have heard of the term "Material Design". Yes, it's the design guideline recommended by Google to streamline the interface of Android OS and apps. If I remember correctly, the design was introduced in version 5 (Lollipop) and it's getting better with 6 (Marshmallow) and the upcoming 7 (Nougat). Let's just pray that our phones will get it :p. Anyway, the design is also starting to get popular among app developers, even major ones. And, if you like Material Design, I have a good news for you who use Google Chrome as your daily web surfing companion: Material Design is actually present in Google Chrome, though it's hidden. You just need to find the settings and enable them. Where are the settings? As usual, it's past the break. Don't worry, it's goin...

An Ad-Ware Horror Story

Image
A screenshot from Microsoft's campaign about using pirated software. This is what happened to me yesterday... technically speaking. If you've been in the Internet long enough (and are familiar with Internet and all threats within), you're bound to know about ad-ware (or adware, whichever one is right doesn't matter). If you don't know, then I'll gladly give you a brief explanation. Generally, computers (that have contact with the outside) have two kinds of threats: malwares (worms, viruses, trojans, etc.) and adwares. Malwares, as the name suggests––malicious wares, are programs created with the intention to break or damage your system. It can steal your precious data, delete important system files, or even access your computer when you least expect… or, just multiply itself to annoy the hell out of you. Regardless, malwares are evil, that's for sure. But, what about adwares? Well, adwares aren't as malicious as malwares, but they're ...

Digitalizing Your Assets. Is It That Important?

Image
Symbolic. In this 21st Century, where technology has accelerated to its limits, or even past the limits, the humanity is offered a 'paperless' era; an era that is said to be eco-friendly by limiting paper usage to minimum. The synonym of this would be 'digitalization', where important papers and documents would be transformed into digital files that will ease the delivery and distribution of such. Sure, it cuts modern companies various delivery costs and paper purchase every year... but what about home assets that have existed decades ago... or even older? Do we need to digitalize it like other modern-day documents? I'm trying to offer you guys an insight about this, as I'm being told by my parents to digitalize such assets and store it somewhere that I still don't know... You're welcome to read it after the break :)

[Advertorial] Make Money Online

Image
Tempting... Well, this Holiday Season, I'm truly idle... or I don't really have anything really worthwhile to do. I originally wanted to study about 3DS Max, but since the program is being downloaded as I write (yeah, 1-2GB programs take longer to download. Welcome to reality, My Friend...), I think I'll try to find something else to do. And... guess what? I think I'm going to earn money from the Internet. The Internet is, as people say, a land of opportunity, just like America. If you can read your opportunity right and use it, you'll benefit from it. I've started this online job since I was a kid, but back then I knew nothing of PayPal and I thought that the earning was too little, so I quitted. But after more than a decade, I decide to get back, since I already know much more things about Internet, and most of my time, I sit in front of my computer/laptop, so doing some multitasking won't be bad at all :p The online jobs that I currently have is a...
