Non-CPO Refurbished iPhone - 6 Months Later...

Image
Six months later... Anda berbicara bahasa Indonesia? Baca artikel terjemahannya di sini ! Remember the iPhone6 I told you about in this post? Well… it's been about 6 months, and I've decided to part ways with it. In the last week, I've experienced something strange: ghost touch. What's ghost touch? Ghost touch is a term when your touchscreen detects touches when you don't, as if there's a ghost playing with your phone. This is very annoying, as this not only renders your phone unusable, but also performs unwanted actions in your phone, like calling someone, messaging random people, etc. At first I thought it was a software bug. During the first times, it rarely happens, and disappears after locking and unlocking the phone. As time goes, it becomes more and more prominent, that even a restart couldn't fix it. I've tried restoring it, starting anew, delete my phone backup, and it still doesn't work. So, what did I do? Find out after the bre...

Non-CPO Refurbished iPhone: An Account

Image
iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Official Shots Anda berbicara bahasa Indonesia? Baca artikel terjemahannya di sini ! Refurbished iPhones are neither new nor unsafe. Apple has long been known to sell refurbished products: broken products which were taken back to Apple, then restored to working conditions. Its cheaper price and one year warranty from Apple makes it more popular for budget-conscious customers. These official refurbished products are known as Apple Certified Pre-Owned (or CPO for short). Those products are obviously safe, but what if you decide to buy a non-CPO iPhone? Call me crazy, but I just bought one. I've been using Android ever since the original Galaxy S, so you should know how entrenched I am in the Android world. I've also been using iPad since iPad2, and I like it. That's why I thought of trying out the phenomenal device. However, before going for the latest and greatest (it's less than 6 months until September, so buying the iPhone7 now isn...

Opinion: Mid-Rangers or Ex-Flagships?

Image
So many phones to choose, so limited my budget. Anda berbicara bahasa Indonesia? Baca artikel terjemahannya di sini . Another month, another opinion-based article. In this opportunity, I want to talk about whether you should buy ex-flagships (aka the former kings) or the new mid-rangers when you have limited budget. Honestly, it's not easy to choose one unless you really know what you really want and what you're going to buy. Normally, sellers will offer you newer goods, but old stuffs don't always mean outdated and obsolete, right? I'm going to divide this article to 2 sections: Ex-Flagships and Mid-Rangers. In each side I will point out its related pros and cons. Hopefully, you will find them clear enough. So go on, head past the break to read them all! :D

iOS10 Tips: Opening Lockscreen without Pressing Home Button

Image
Illustrated iOS10 on iPhone6 (or iPhone6S) Anda berbahasa Indoneisa? Baca artikel terjemahannya di sini ! I'll have to admit that iOS10 is quite a revolutionary upgrade. With various new features added such as widgets and into existing apps like Siri and iMessage, iOS10 might the most flexible (and possibly the most open) iOS to date. However, there's one new "feature" which is quite disturbing to me, which is the need to press the home button when unlocking your phone. In the previous iOS version, you only need to rest your finger on the sensor to unlock your device. Press Home to Unlock. No longer. The good news is, this "new feature" can be turned off. Honestly, since I'm kind of a person who takes "extraordinary" care for his home button (including the ones in Samsung devices), I try my best to never press it whenever possible. Why, because I've seen numerous broken home buttons, either them being unresponsive or no longer c...

Return of The Blog (and Breaking News)

Alright, I realize that it's been roughly a month (or more) since my last post, about the iMac Refresh. Well, now the new iMac is already on sale in the U.S. of A, Apple fans here in Indonesia will need to wait for the ridiculously-thin AIO desktop. One good advantage of getting last in launch, though, is that we'll get to see the reviews from the professionals first. Should the product has defects (got blown off easy, messy internals, etc.), we can avoid buying it and keep the hard-earned dough for the next generation product next year :p As in other news, the iPhone5 has finally landed here, with still its 'revolutionary' price of Rp7,999,999.00 for factory-unlocked models. For those of you who are eager to get one but doesn't have enough cash, maybe you should take a look at the contracts telco operators like Telkomsel and Indosat are offering. Be sure to simulate your cash flow in the next 12 months, though... or you'll get burned. Meanwhile, ATIV Smart ...

The iPhone5, Now with A6 and 4" Screen

Image
Taller. Today, marks the birth of a new, next-gen iPhone. I'm not that much into Apple's mobile ecosystem (especially iPhone), although it's always fascinating to observe the competition. Yes, I use some of their mobile products (like iPad) but some are just too expensive for me. Anyway, on the left, you'll see the press front shot of Apple's new handset. From the front, there seems to be no changes at all... It only got a bit taller. Yep, the small Retina screen on the iPhone4(S) has been expanded to 4". I'm not bashing or anything... but IMHO, 4" is already 'too small'. Good thing that it's still thinner, though. Meaning that it can fit easily in your pocket :p

Apple Released iPhone5, Redesigned iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and More Colors for the Shuffle!

Image
It's been a week since I posted my last post (right, 7 days... not more, not less) and I was so darn busy at the moment, with all those programming C++ stuffs, with studios, CSS-styling (they're kind of confusing), HTML editing with Dreamweaver magic, etc. but today I'm going to make up for it, though. I've got things to post right now, and I'm going to post it separately. Yeah, Apple has released the new iPhone, iPod Nano, iPod Touch, and iPod Shuffle. The last isn't quite new since there are only more colors... I'm going to post it separately, so you don't have to scroll. Once the posts are done, I'm going to put them up here, for easy access :) Please take a moment. Since I'm in Indonesia, I'll have to do a research. Those babies most likely won't make it here until next year thanks to the Bureaucracy.... Update: iPhone5 Coverage Updated. Hit the Image for More Info :D Update2: iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle Added....
